Advisory GP23/03: Standardised repeat assessment of general practices
Starting from 1 January 2024, the Commission introduced a standardised framework for repeat assessments of general practices under the National General Practice Accreditation (NGPA) Scheme, as detailed in Advisory GP23/03. This change ensures a uniform approach across all accrediting agencies, addressing previous inconsistencies in the criteria for repeat assessments.
General practices that undergo their initial assessments on or after the stipulated date, and fail to meet 20% or more of the mandatory indicators, will be required to undergo these repeat assessments. Although anticipated to impact fewer than 4% of practices, it is crucial for AGPAL clients to be informed and prepared for these mandated evaluations.
