Reminders: Key operational requirements of the NGPA Scheme | Advisory GP24/01: Assessment following relocation of physical premises by an accredited general practice
Is your practice relocating to new premises during your accreditation cycle? It’s essential to be aware of the relocation assessment requirements as detailed within the Commission’s Advisory GP24/01: Assessment following relocation of physical premises by an accredited general practice. Advisory GP24/01 outlines the need for relocating practices to undertake an on-site assessment at the new practice location to transfer the accreditation. Released in September 2024, this Advisory ensures that your practice maintains compliance and avoids interruptions to your accreditation status.
What you need to know
- Mandatory on-site relocation assessment: AGPAL can facilitate transferring your accreditation to your new premises following the successful completion of this mandatory on-site assessment. The Commission specifies the indicators from the RACGP Standards that must be reviewed during the process—you can find the details here.
- Notification requirement: Practices must notify AGPAL at least 21 business days before relocating. This lead time is crucial to ensure your relocation assessment is completed within the required three months of moving.
- Services Australia requirement: To comply with Services Australia’s guidelines, practices must submit an updated accreditation certificate within six months of relocating.
